Data backup service in Melbourne CBD

Data backup is a very important procedures for eveyone who uses computer. It is very simple to do but sometime we tend to forget or to lazy to do it.

When you don't back up your data, you simply believe that your computer will never break down. It does not matter how cheap or how expensive your computer is, when it fails, it will not give you a warning. It will just stop working. The funny thing is, most of the time, this happen when you need to use it most, like during date line, exam, or assignment.

Simple definition of data backup

Data back up is when you have two or more the same file located in different media, it could be on your USB HDD or DVD-R, or even on another computer.

This is not a backup

  • Moving data from the original place to a flash USB memory or other media, and delete the original data and only have 1 copy of the data.
  • Backing up data into a different partition in your computer but still within the same Hdd media (when HDD fails, all data dissapears).
  • Have backed up data to a separate media, but never update the data eventhough the original data has changed.
  • Never checked the integrity of the data backed up and the back up media.

Part of the reasons user does not backup their data is because users are not aware how often storage medias and / or computers fail. However the oucome of not having a data backed up when failure occurs can be very disastrous and frustrating. Users could still try to get the data by visitng data recovery provider, but it is a very expensive service compared to the minimum tim eyou have to spend to backup the data. Being prepared by always having a backup is always a lot and easier rather than having to fix the issue when it happens.

Manual data backup

The easiest way to backup data is to get an external HDD, then copy the file manually into the HDD. This is applicable only when the data is small and modification of the data  does not occur very often. We would recommend everyone to at least do this. Studen PC always have a special price for external hard drive, please check out our latest promotion on  ext HDD.

Automation of data backup

Alternative way to backup your data is to use a free and available program to automate the task. If you are using Microsoft Windows Operating System, there is a program called "Backup". With this MS backup, you will be to configure your computer to back up certain folders or files and you can schedule the task so it will be done, daily, weekly or montly. As long as you have the computer on during the time you specified the task for backup, it will then run the backup task. You could also configure the backup task to verify the data.

  • The size of the data to be backed up.
  • Hardware scalability allowing future expansions.
